Former President Donald Trump's campaign said Saturday in a statement that it had been hacked.

Let's face it, we're there already. Congress has been allowed unfettered insider trading (and worse, to be permitted to trade stocks the laws they are voting on influence, and vice versa) for decades and the results are predictable. People are still arguing about whether this is fascism even while congress is passing laws written by corporate lawyers which make it ever more legal for corporations to control the government, because they think if it's not Italian it's only sparkling white nationalism. The Supreme Court is stuffed with hard right authoritarians who all refuse to recuse themselves even in cases of obvious conflicts of interest, and the majority of whom have obviously taken extensive packages of bribes.
The Reagan-era plan of compromising the public education system in order to avoid an educated proletariat so that consent for fascism could be manufactured among the religious right (who by definition have already proven that they can be influenced en masse by propaganda and mythology) has paid off brilliantly, and we are reaping the "rewards" today — unsustainable profit for the wealthy as demonstrated by a booming stock market that remains at elevated levels even after a significant plunge, while homelessness continues to rise and real wages continue to fall.
