Just like the 60s when the big two parties traded positions due to disputes over Civil Rights, America is due for another major shift. The paradigm of "Republican Lite" is really Really REALLY dumb and should be horse-whipped (or donkey-whipped if you prefer). Democrats need to seize the mantle of Smaller Government(tm) and State Rights(tm) if they ever want to hold office again.

Let each state keep more of its own money. The red states will vote for it and the blue states will benefit.

Get the federal government (and federal lobbyists) out of your house. Kill abortion, gun control, gay rights, etc, as national issues. Let the states decide as they see fit. Again, the red states will vote for it and the blue states will benefit.

It's a win-win situation for everyone (well, almost everyone).

Yeah, that would be nice. I'd love to see "fiscal conservatives" break away from the PNACers, then join with moderate Libertarians and my theoretical neo-Democrats.
