It's the fear. The left is afraid of what will happen if GWB wins a second term, the (thinking) right is afraid of what will happen if voter turnout hands the dems the whole enchilada. People in general are afraid thanks to the FUD spewing out of the white house.
Michael Badnarik [badnarik.org]. Given the large number of Libertarians [lp.org] I've seen on Slashdot, it's kind of surprising not to see him as a choice here. It's a shame that he's pretty much unknown.
Hopefully the frontpage version of this poll will also include David Cobb and Patricia LaMarche [votecobb.org] from the the Green party [gp.org], and a "Spoiling my vote" option.
I think that the CP's candidate, Michael Peroutka, should be up there as well. He's already gotten ballot access in 32 states (at my last count) and may very well end up with 40.
I will be voting for CowboyNeal because of his views on healthcare and the situation in the middle east. I do offer him one bit of advice: if you see Christopher Walkin, make sure you run away. He has a problem with grassroots movements.
This election is starting to annoy me already - wish they could move it forwards two months and get it over with.
sci.military.naval is totally overrun with political trolls about some war a long time ago and who was and wasnt there and who told which lie. Signal to noise is off the bottom of the chart - and all over two identikit right wing guys.
After the way they have run their campaigns I'd be quite happy to throw away my vote on a third party in the hopes that it starts to look more attractive for other people to run next time around - I'd like to vote for a professional person (engineer, doctor, architect etc) who was standing because they felt someone had to do it, so why not them. I definatly do not want to vote for another career politician with all 10 grubby fingers buried in dirty funding pies.
unfortunately, our best option at the moment is to vote for who we feel will give us a better chance for more options in the future... sucks, but if you don't like it, change something, right... or at least thats how its suppose to work:)
