It's all politics. Viral particles are too small to be arrested by the masks, even N95s, but at least if you cough or sneeze it will retard the velocity and spread of the particles. But if a Biden supporter can fart next to me and I still be gassed out despite wearing a surgical mask, I doubt it's effective. Then again, I can smell Kamela Harris' fishy body odor through a CNN broadcast, so they're truly some remarkable people.

True. But the virus particles are carried by droplets, which are large enough to be stopped by masks.
