The Governator recently said "I've always been environment-friendly and I will fight for the environment. Nothing to worry about that." A quick look at his garage would belie that claim.
In 1990, Arnold saw a convoy of Army Humvees and wanted to have one (or 5 or 6). He single-handedly persuaded AMG to create a civilian version. It gets 12mpg under ideal conditions (8mpg in the real world) and is so huge that it's exempt from CAFE regulations for "light trucks" (e.g. Expedition, Durango, etc). And due to insane politics, self-employed people can take the full price as a tax deduction.

I'm with you on counting the emissions, but a 3 ton truck is not that big. Many people have a need to drive such cars.

Perhaps I'm accidentally misusing an overloaded term; it's something about carrying capacity, right? I meant that a vehicle which literally weighs over 6000bs when empty should never be considered a personal commuter car. And I still say that if someone has a reason to drive anything larger than a passenger car, they should get a truck/bus driver's license to prove it.
Back to the subject: fuel cells are not a panacea. They require hydrogen, which requires hydrolysis, which r
