roncosmos writes "first use of phonograph in a presidential campaign--in 1908, for the first time, presidential candidates recorded their voices on wax cylinders records and the voices of the candidates were brought into the home for the first time. in that pre-radio era, that was the only , short of hearing a speech at a whistle stop, that you could hear the candidates. story includes audios of those historic records, including a now sadly prescient record by William Jennings Bryan on bank failures. great images also, lot of fun"
