Comments: 1 +-   Consumer Groups Rail for "Do Not Track" Re-> on Wednesday April 16 2008, @09:55AM eldavojohn

eldavojohn writes "Consumer groups are asking for a 'do not track' registry to be implemented similar to a 'do not call' registry that has been welcomed with success. Of course the companies are asking for cases of harm that tracking has done and would rather they are self-regulated than FCC regulated. While I can't cite any exact harm done to me, I myself have removed countless tracking cookies from my machine with the aid of ad-aware. Would you register if one existed? How would you propose it be implemented? By registering IPs?"
