Nate the greatest writes: In a move which has astounded commentators on both sides of the Atlantic, Waterstones managing director James Daunt announced today that the 296 store Waterstones chain would sell the Kindle starting in September. Daunt was tight lipped about the specific terms of the deal, but he has said that Waterstones will sell both the Kindle device as well as Kindle ebooks. He did also leave open the possibility that Waterstones would have their own ebook platform, but frankly that doesn't seem possible now. Waterstones had long been rumored to be working on a deal with B&N to sell the Nook, but clearly that won't be happening now. Link to Original Source
