crookedvulture (1866146) writes "AMD's hopes for the consumer market are pinned heavily on its latest A-series APUs. Otherwise known as Llano, these CPU/GPU hybrids have started popping up in the larger, budget notebooks that are whittling away at desktop market share. A closer inspection of Asus' 15.6" entry into this market reveals a system with potent CPU and gaming performance, built-in USB 3.0 support, but only mediocre battery life. That's not a bad trade-off for only $600. However, just as Intel has some catching up to do on the graphics front, Llano's relatively high power consumption remains a concern for notebooks."
